Hypnoenergetics® and our Emotional Landscape

Previously I introduced the Four Dimensions (Emotional Landscape, Physical Being, Spiritual Being and Energy Field) and this time I highlight  how Hypnoenergetics® addresses our Emotional Landscape.
The emotional landscape is the traditional dimension used in hypnotherapy and psychology. Both modalities involve CBT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and other “talking” therapies. CBT therapies are also used in Hypnoenergetics® in both the conscious state and in a trance/subconscious state. (See March post for more on the Trance State) but Hypnoenergetics® also recognises that any trauma is held energetically within the subconscious.

Energetic trauma (but it could also be happy memories) are bound by three elements: the event, the emotion or feeling at the time of the event and the belief created or held as a result of the event. These energetic triangles may live in our subconscious as known memories or hidden memories. The sides of this energetic triangle also act as sensors or triggers to reengage the full triangle. For example, an event later in life could trigger the whole memorised triangle bringing up the same feelings as an event from childhood, complete with the same beliefs.  For example, a break up in a relationship could trigger the same feelings of abandonment  experienced as a child when a parent left which resulted in the child feeling unlovable.

During a hypnoenergetics® session the source of the triangle is found. The event is explored. Beliefs are challenged and replaced with beliefs that serve the client. The client is facilitated into discovering their own alternative beliefs which serve them. Negative feelings are removed. To ensure no vacuum exists to suck those negative feelings back in again positive feelings are substituted. Once again positive feelings chosen by the client are used. The event is redefined and reframed as something that has taught a valuable life lesson.

Using the above example, a possible session could look like this: the childhood event (parent leaving) is found in trance; The “unlovable” belief is challenged and to one of being lovable; The feeling of abandonment is removed and replaced with love and acceptance; and the childhood event is redefined and seen as parents with their own stuff happening and they were doing the best they could at the time. The energy of the triangle has been transformed on all three sides.
Of course I don’t want to give away all the good stuff here. To start your journey into the powerhouse of your subconscious, Hypnoenergetics® session.

Trance State and the Subconscious

Last time I mentioned the Four Dimensions the Hypnoenergetics® approach to hypnotherapy considers: the Emotional Landscape, Physical Presence, Spiritual Being and a person’s Energy Field. Before I elaborate on the dimensions I need to talk about the subconscious and hypnotic trance, or the state of suggestibility.
What is a hypnotic trance? To understand what a trance state is we first need to understand what total consciousness is. Active, or focussed consciousness is a state where brainwave activity operates, and is measured using EEG, in a frequency range of 12-35Hz and is called the beta range. Any brainwave frequency below 12Hz constitutes a hypnotic trance. The lower the frequency the deeper the trance and the more open the person is to suggestion. The lower the frequency the greater the access is to the subconsciousness.
It is also interesting to note that creativity and the ability to be engrossed in learning also fall below the beta frequency.
The deepest state, known as delta (0.5-4Hz), is unconscious sleep. Dreams are the subconscious’ way of communicating and recalling dreams is the subconscious communicating with the conscious mind.
In between these two states, beta and delta, there are two states very important to hypnotherapy: Alpha (8-12Hz) is where most hypnotherapy takes place and is usually experienced as calm consciousness; Theta (4-8Hz) is the deep hypnotic state required for deep healing hypnotherapy.
Relaxation is the most common way to slow down brainwaves to help a client achieve a trance state. Emotional states already have a client in a trance state because their brainwave frequency is within the alpha range and hypnotherapy work can commence immediately.
The conscious mind thinks it is 100% in control. In truth its control is about 10%. The tip of the iceberg. It is the subconscious mind, the other 90% which holds the real power. The conscious mind is characterised by linear processing which involves time. The conscious mind has access to known memories. Our conscious mind is extremely important in keeping us safe and allowing us to operate in our physical world.
The subconscious mind operates on what I call “dream logic”. While dreaming, illogical scenes make perfect sense. It is only in the wakeful, conscious state when we try to relate or recall our dreams that scenes become illogical. The language of the subconscious is imagination. Imagination is used extensively in hypnotherapy.
The subconscious mind operates in timelessness and has access to forgotten memories, hidden memories, immortal memories (or soul memories) and the collective memory of the collective unconsciousness. This powerhouse of energetically stored wisdom and knowledge is accessible through Hypnoenegetics®. Wisdom within yourself and beyond is available for healing and understanding.

Our Subconscious Powerhouse

If you have blocks that stop you achieving your goals, then it is time to invest in a hypnotherapy session. You’ll be amazed at how much more you’ll be able to achieve.

Hypnotherapy is excellent at addressing issues in the subconscious. Issues that work against us. The Hypnoenergetics® approach addresses the issue holistically by acknowledging  all dimensions of the human existence, not just the traditional emotional landscape usually addressed by hypnotherapy. Hypnoenergetics® takes into account the physical presence (the body and physical symptoms), the deeper wisdom within (called the soul or spirit) and the energy field of each person.

All these dimensions are accessible during hypnotic trance. As science is proving that everything is energy in various forms of vibrational frequencies, it makes sense to address the blocks and issues from the understanding of energy. Everything we’ve ever experienced felt or believed is stored in our subconscious. Our subconscious is an energetic storage facility. It is timeless. Experiences, feelings and beliefs are stored with exactly the same energetic charge (negative or positive) as the first time they were stored. Thus, a trauma experienced at age 5, for example, will still have the same intensity of charge as the day it happened. This energetic charge is bound by a triangle consisting of an event, a feeling and a belief. The combination of the three will determine the negative or positive charge and whether the experience serves the client or not.

All adult rationalising of a passed event, understanding it and “dealing with it” via the conscious mind, fails to deal with all the triangles sides. Hypnoenergetics® helps the client locate these energetic stores, identify the triangle sides and through therapeutic interventions reframes and recalibrates the frequency of the energetic charge of the triangle. In simplistic terms, negative energy is replaced with positive energy. And because we are working in the timelessness of the subconscious the recalibration done in trance back at the age 5 the energy is recalibrated for the adult.

Besides all this talk about energy shifting, good solid counseling and therapy methods are used to facilitate a client through uncovering their issue and healing. With hypnoenergetics® sessions a client is not left open and raw with a “Time’s up! See you next week.” Sessions are allowed to come to a natural conclusion when the energy has shifted to allow the client leave the chair feeling differently about their issue. Sometimes big energy shifts occur and sometimes small. This is also why sessions are not one hour long.

Therapy continues to work in the following days or even months after the session. Sometimes the effects are subtle where a few months down the road you realise, “I don’t do that anymore!” The opposite effect may also happen where the change feels like a punch in the stomach – metaphorically speaking. Hypnoenergetics® follows the client with whatever presents in a session.
